365 different sports in 365 days - the globe-trotting odyssey of former international cricketer Kieren 'Beefy' Blake is coming to Harrogate as he tries the fast-paced and fast-growing sport of VX.

Born and raised in Newport, Wales, Beefy’s career took him around the world and he now resides in Melbourne, Australia. Having an insatiable taste for sports since his early childhood, Beefy has attended tens of thousands of sporting events across the world, at some of the most famous stadia on the planet andincluding Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, World Cups andWorld Title fights. So great is his passion for sport that twice he has been crazy enough to fly from Australia to the UK for a mere 24 hours to see his beloved Newport County play at Wembley Stadium!

365 Days of Sport is a life-long achievement that began its journey with Beefy’s "My Life of Sport” blog. So many of his friends, family and followers enjoyed his posts that the mad-cap conversations between mates about a year-long odyssey eventually seemed possible and started to take shape. Throughout their year-long challenge, Beefy will be updating his website and the 365 Days of Sport social media pages with fresh and exciting content as their journey continues. As the odyssey has continued media interest has risen with press, TV and radio keen to cover his experiences.

VX is a sport that has had a massive impact in its short life, growing from nothing to an increasing international presence in just 8 years. Played in teams (VX), doubles (V4) or singles (V2) the sport has growing international competition, national tournaments and World Cups. The sport is gender-neutral with females playing on a totally equal footing with males at all levels in all disciplines.

Keen to see what the fuss is about, Beefy has selected VX as one of his 365 sports and is coming to see some of the very top players compete in an invitational tournament at Harrogate Squash Club on the evening of Wednesday March 16th.

Craig Buttery, Commissioner of Global VX said: "We are very pleased to be able to welcome Beefy to see a VX event. He'll see some of our top players who always put on a thoroughly exciting show for the spectators. We are delighted that he chose VX as one of the sports for his odyssey and are sure that he'll be astonished by what he sees!"
